Looks like from Amazon, but I couldn't find them. Any suggestions?

Are these the ones your looking at? These are interior light's so they probably are not bright enough, but then again, original were not that bright either.

They will plug in and dump light in front, but no focus & no dip of low beam. Not for headlights.

That's what the review was for the $29 each Logo Lite led headlight; these are not the same design. Yes, they could be the same or worse but they may be better...no one has tested them as far as I know.

As your link shows, there are many of these type of items on Amazon but until now there was nothing BA15D that would work with 6v positive ground. I like the $6 each price that's for sure

You got it! Their ad says works for "Common use for Turn Signal Lights, Internal light, Tail lights, Front Light, Corner light, Parking light, Side marker, Backup lights, Right Light, Left Light, Right Light, etc". But perhaps headlights are not mentioned because they were not thinking weak 1930s 32cp Ford A headlight bulb replacement.

I would guess they will be brighter than 32cp bulbs but questions is how well will they focus? At $6 each they may be worth a try...no?

I have tried these bulbs and they are no good for night time driving. 30MPH tops. However they are very good for day time driving if you like to run with your lights on. Very low power draw saving your generator.

Saving the generator??? I would rather have headlights that project a useful light beam, I have focused halogen bulbs, the generator has been fine at 14 amps for the last 20 years, before that I would crank it to 18 amps for 50cp bulbs, the generator got a temporary repair 35 years ago, first one I rebuilt
None of the led bulbs can properly focus due to their design

"None of the led bulbs can properly focus due to their design"

Long story short, they will not work for providing a beam to follow at night. But the stock bulbs don't really provide enough light for the speeds we drive now either. Headlights are probably not the place to try to save $$$$.

Question Re: Eureka!!! Think I found the LED headlight Holy Grail for $6 each!

UPDATE

I posted this on Facebook and one guy commented that these will not work because:

"...the pins on the bottom one is positive and one is negative [photo at the top shows that too] On a original bulb both pins on the bottom are positive one is low beam other is high and it gets it ground from the metal base"

I have no idea if he's right or wrong. I would have thought pins being + or - doesn't matter if there no polarity but maybe not...

Yes that is true. Some of those bulbs do not have the ground on the outer shell. Go to LEDLight.com product #78989. Those bulbs are correct of the Model A. but they will not focus so are not really good for night time driving. I use them for day time. Very little amp. draw.

He's right. The 1142 is a single filament connected between the pins; no connection to the base. 1157 type is the double filament bulb.

Their inability to drop the low beam toward the ground makes them illegal for headlight use in most of the civilized world.

Well, looks like this "Holy Grail" ended up actually being fake gold.
