Default 1940 Columbia Install

Have any of you guys made a custom lower speedometer cable instead of putting that dreaded loop in the original cable? If so, do you recall the length and who made it up?

I did this once for a client that didn't care about authenticity. I no longer recall the length but know it should be quite easy to discern.
