MAFCA Nation Board Elections
As many of you have seen in the signature to my recent posts, I am running again for the national Board of Directors of MAFCA.
MAFCA members should have received 2 ballots by now. I am posting this to remind you, if you haven't already, to vote for me () and to get your ballots in the mail back to MAFCA right away, before they get misplaced. You and your spouse (or another family member) can vote; that's why you received 2 ballots. So you can both vote for me! If you want, you put them both in a single envelope addressed to MAFCA and save a bit on postage. In fact, you can gather up all the ballots from your friends and relatives and send them all in one big envelope, if you want. No rule against that. Remember, "Vote early and vote often!" I don't want to turn this post into a public debate about MAFCA, what they do, or what they don't do. BUT, you are all invited to send a Personal Message (PM) to me through the Ford Barn with any questions or concerns you have as a MAFCA member. Before voting for me, perhaps you'd like to talk to me. That's great! Please do! If email is not your thing, I would love to talk to you on the phone, or use Skype or something similar to talk "face to face" about what concerns you. Please send me a short PM with how to contact you (phone number, Skype name, etc.). Overseas members, I like to use WhatsApp and Google Hangouts. If I am elected to the Board, I would like to bring with me those things that are of interest or concern to you, the MAFCA members. So I want to hear from you. I would really like all MAFCA members reading this to send in their ballots. It is important that the Directors represent a broad cross section of the membership. That is my first priority. This only happens if you go do it now. Now, if you also happen to vote for ME, that even better! Thanks for your time. WE NOW RETURN TO OUR REGULARLY SCHEDULED PROGRAM...

Re: MAFCA Nation Board Elections
While shooting pool and over a couple of beers (Edsel) and tea (Henry) the founding patriarch, and the President, of the Ford Motor Company, both said they would vote for you. Sorensen, Harold Hicks and Mr. Cousins were still debating the issue, but I feel that Henry and Edsel Ford will win them over to you.
And too, most of the workers at the Ford Assembly Plant in Eureka, California are in your corner ! Some of them are still driving the Model A's that they assembled in 1931. |

Re: MAFCA Nation Board Elections
I honestly wish many of ya'll could meet & know Jim Cannon. A true southern gentleman that is a huge asset to our hobby. Jim also has served our hobby greatly as a Technical Director for the MAFCA, and he follows this forum where he shares his expertise here too. He is easily accesible and very enjoyable to speak with. My hope is you will cast your vote for Jim, -and you will encourage others to also vote for him too. Our hobby definitely needs more ambassadors like Jim!

Re: MAFCA Nation Board Elections
Our crew from NZ have met Jim many times at the MAFCA meets and I can say that he is always willing to spend time chatting and imparting knowledge. He is a great guy, with lots of model A expertise and good stories and Diane and I will certainly be voting for him.
We are in UK at present, but hope our voting papers will be waiting for us in NZ when we get back at the end of the month. SAJ from NZ. |

Re: MAFCA Nation Board Elections
Good because I already did just that. I saw that the renewal AND the ballots both go to the same address SO I figured I could mail it all together and the folks there would sort it out! Also ordered the new JS Revision at the same time.
Good luck Jim! The problem with the ballots to me anyway was, everyone running was a good pick. Definitely some talent going for a Board position. John LaVoy another excellent candidate. |

Re: MAFCA Nation Board Elections
I met Jim at Hershey last year and enjoyed speaking with him. I enjoyed his work as Technical Director for MAFCA, too.
It looked like there were a number of good candidates and I really had to think about which candidates to vote for based only on the information provided with the ballot. Maybe in the future, the clubs could post videos of each candidate on the club web site, but I am not sure if that would be any better than the written statements. I was not smart enough to figure out that all went to the same address, so I am the post office's friend for putting stamps on all three! |

"Does anyone think the election is RIGGED"
Only if people do not vote. That is why I wish I knew all the candidates personally. It might make the voting easier, but our hobby is filled with good people and I applaud all of those who want to serve on the board or in other capacities. |

[QUOTE=mhsprecher;1343760]"Does anyone think the election is RIGGED"
Just because the ballots don't go to ' MAFCA, 250 S. Cypress LaHabra, Ca.' but have a mailing address to 'Texas' instead,,,,, naw Hey only kidding hopefully you'll realize that I made that up! Somebody will say 'Really???' |

I'd like to get to know you before you vote, so that you know who you are voting for. And after you vote, so that I can hear more from the members directly about what concerns them, what you like, and what you don't like about what's going on in MAFCA right now. The Board serves the Members, so if I am elected to the Board, I'd like to hear from Members. So, yes, please vote. (And if you happen to vote for me, that's even better!)
