Tried a pair several years ago. No matter how may times I tried to align them, there always seemed to be a big dead spot in front of the car. Finally went back to conventional sealed beams.

You can put halogen sealed beams on the '47 like I did on mine. Noticeabley brighter than the regular sealed beams. Available off the shelf at NAPA: http://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/Ca...006_0325911338

If those are the Wagner Lighting H6006 unit they are no longer made. they stopped production in 2009. You can find them on the bay or if your lucky at a long time local parts store. My local store had 24 on the shelf in March at $8.99 ea. Then 0 a month later.

I just called my local NAPA store and they have two on their shelf.

Henry, if you are running w/stock 6-volt system, the generator is able to keep up? I heard these lights tax generator output. Steve

Everything taxes the generator output - the headlights, the brake lights, the spot light, the radio, the heater fan. Just gotta keep the generator turning a bit faster than normal idle and it can keep up unless everything is on, then it doesn't. The biggest drain I've noticed is the old tube radio. It seems to take more than any other two combined. I didn't notice a big difference between the stock lamps and the halogen. I certainly didn't have to put in any heavier wiring or a relay or anything like that. Just plugged them in and away we went - seeing better than before.

This one has a pair of the Wagner H6006s They are much brighter than the standard sealbeams. The Courier is 6v pos ground with a generator. There is no problem when running these at night. The ammeter shows about 10 amps charge when these are on at 35 to 50 MPH.
