I can see the CL ad now, ran when parked, just needs paint, engine turns by hand, could need seat covers, low mileage, a few spots need buffing, owned by aunt, uncle, cousin, just need to sell, tires hold air.

Judging from the surviving pieces, that was a relatively new car when it got hit.

Can anybody read the sign on the windshield? "DON'T ......"

Whatever it is. I agree that you shouldn't do it.

"Don't Touch". The owner was proactive in warding off the '34 Ford parts hoarders, even before '34 Fords were near the center of the V8 universe. The owner had uncanny intuition.

Note the left front wheel. It appears that the rim has been largely sheared off from the hub with the spokes left mostly attached to the hub.

X2 on this . Note the LF door is pretty much in place . Top was down and booted . Could be some distortion on the right doors and rear body . That said a new chassis cowl and front tinwork and -----? That dream aside what a EXCELLENT parts car . As mentioned it looks pretty new . Unlike this one from 1945 .

Yeah, but I can't tell if he is signalling a right turn or a left turn.

The grille surround shows it to be a '34...

As Pete notes, the grille plus the spacing of the holes in the front bumper for the bumper guards.

Fenders are body color . Yes there can be exceptions to this but black fenders on 33 and body color on 34 is normal .

Drinking and driving was "socially acceptable" and very common back then. Driver was probably headed home from the bar. just hope he didn't kill anybody else.

At least there likely would be no rust to contend with in its restoration, but its highly likely that it ended its days parted out in a junk yard.

I also read this as the car in motion when the disaster happens. If yes, that's an impressive hit to do what we see to the front bumper.

If the car was sitting and got clobbered then the bumper would not be so "nicely" formed around the impacting object.

Nicely played but I think the car did the hitting. If the train hit it then there would be more bent parts on the secondary market and secondary roads!

If it were hit by a train you would have to walk along the tracks and pick the car up in mostly very small pieces. I've seen the results of a number of car train arguments, the train wins every time.

My guess would be that a bigger (higher) vehicle (truck, bus) ran into the left front
of that car right where it sits...
