Default Body color based on frame/engine number

I there any information available to determine what the body color was, based on the frame/engine number?

I have learned, base on this number, that my A was built during the second week of February, 1931?

Thanks,

You can't find out the original factory color from the engine number. If those records existed, they are now lost.

You can look around on the inside of the car, sand down through previous resprays, to see if you can find a layer with the original body color. Look up between gas tank and firewall, inside the car. You might get lucky and find it. Sand up there with fine paper and see what color comes off on the paper.

Otherwise you choose a color scheme that you like from the tables in the Paint & Finish Guide for your month/year and body style.

HTH.

Depending on your body style, you can research color changes and updates for some in the Ford Service Letters from the Ford Branch Office Letters of 1927-1931 from the three that MARC has for sale at a very reasonable price. CAUTION: Not all body styles are listed and you will have to search letter by letter. Good Luck...
