Default 48 truck engine

Has anyone else run across across a 48 V-8 truck engine with studs rather than bolts? I just picked up an engine out of a 48 F-6 2 ton truck. Engine looks like it was never apart. Has standard pistons. This block is also unique as it does not have a bushing for the fuel pump rod. It rides directly in the cast block and there is a very large hole where it intersects the oil gallery. The pump rod blocks the hole. Without it, you would have one huge leak. There is also a plug in the back of the block above the oil drive cover which plugs the back of the oil tube.

Jack an 8BA or 59Ab. Canadian 48 trucks shipped to New Zealand had 59Ab engines with studs of course. Interesting engine. Always a new twist with these ole flattys.
