What are the differences/improvements to the diamond A Block?

There has been much discussion about that. I am of the opinion that there is really no difference better or worse. I have a diamond B and a diamond A engine and can see no difference. The general consensus seems to be that the diamond engines were produced after general production for cars ceased. These engines were used in industrial or agricultural equipment.
I'm sure others will chime in.

Engines used on some ag machines, Gleaner combines for example, only ran during harvest season, therefore fewer total hours. May be other differences, I don't know.

Diamond engines, both A and B, were produced at least up to the war. They have a date cast into the block on the lower right front. Sometimes the dates are hard to decipher, but are there. Most, if not all had hard exhaust seats, all diamond castings were not the same, in thickness around the ports, etc. The diamond is a foundry mark so not produced on the Ford assemby line. The mark can be found on heads, bell housings, rear trans nounts, etc.
