Default Thanks to Our Veterans.

Thanks to all our vets out there. I know a lot of you frequent the Ford Barn. My dad was a WW2 and Korea CPO Navy vet. He is gone now. Thank you all for your service.

I second that!!! Every Spring, the Veterans Home in King, Wisconsin hosts a car show. It is VERY well attended. The residents really appreciate it. One other thing that our Model A Club does is to visit and give rides at local nursing homes. Our visits are the talk of the place before we arrive and well afterwards. The stories shared during these visits are very heartwarming.

Thanks to all the Veterans who have served. We will help to recognize the day with our "A" at our town sponsored events. Hope you all can do the same and show your support.

A local event held in our area sponsored by the kids in a local high school. Shows some kids want a good education.

I first of all want to thank, all of the Millions of Veterans Past and Alive, for their Service. Tomorrow I will be Remembering those close to Me I have Known and Lost. My Father who served in the Navy, WWII on the Carrier Hornet. He was on-board for most of the battles, it was involved in, and had to jump ship when it was Fatality hit by a Japanese Kamikaze, and Sunk. But he survived and lived to be of old age before Passing.

Thanks, for Your Thanks to my-self, I was in Viet Nam, Army, for Two, 9 month tours. 1st tour, 1967-68 Spec. 5 Drove a Ten Ton Wrecker. 2nd Tour 1969 was Platoon Sargent, with 9 men under me in the Motor Pool. I was with the MACV Division, were sent all over where they needed help. If I was asked to do it again, I would without Hesitation. I lost a lot Friends in Viet Nam, I will be Remembering Tomorrow.

I am Wintering in Florida now, Tomorrow will be attending a Car Show at the Military Heritage Museum, here in Punta Gorda, Florida. The Veterans attending will be dressed in Partial Uniform, in Honor to ourselves and of those Past.
Also Here is a Link to View some of the Cars of the MARC club I belong to down here. A Lot of the Photos were taken at Edison-Ford Winter Home in Fort Myers. http://modelafordcluboffortmyersfl.org/

A great thank you to our veterans, the ordinary folk who did - and do - extraordinary things! Thanks as well to the active duty military members. You may not hear it a lot, but we value your service!

A very heartfelt thank you to all vets. Your service and sacrifice is very much appreciated. You carry a load that those of us who were not there will never understand.

They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them, nor the year's condemn.
At the going down of the sun, and in the morning,
We will remember them.

I'd like to say a big thank you all of our Veterans, Active Duty and Reserve service members.. My Dad joined the Marines in 1942 at 29 years of age even though he was married with a little critter. My Mother and Dad were totally dedicated to the war effort. I never heard them complain about what they had to do. It was a war they felt they had to win.

I'd like to remember a good friend, the late Major Albert, "Duke", Fullerton, US Army, Retired. Duke was assigned to the Philippines before Peal Harbor. He survived what he called "The Big Hike", the Bataan Death March. He spent some three and a half years as a POW and rest of his life recovering from his wounds. He was such special person. Duke had spirit. My wife named the A we're restoring Duke.

The history of our veteran's hard work, dedication and guts is one we can all be proud of. They did their jobs without thanks and did them well. So to you VETS, Thank You.

I don't know about other parts of the chain, but our local (Eureka, California) APPLEBEE'S restaurant honors veterans on Veteran's Day, be giving them a free meal (with I.D. - I use my VA card).

Airman, V-6 Division, USS HORNET, CVS-12 , from January 1961 to January 1964.
MSTS - Viet Nam 1964-1967 , Member: Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club

Just back from my free dinner at Applebee's Resturant. The manager told me that the entire chain of Applebee's Restaurants offers a complimentary meal to all Veterans on Veteran's Day. They have been doing this public service and Service Recognition for six years now. Thank you Applebee's !

I am a WWII combat veteran, probably one of several on the ford barn. I appreciate the tributes that are given to my generation vets, and to all vets regardless of which conflict they served in.

Company B, 116th Regiment, 29th Division, WWII

We salute you and your comrades of Company B, Barnstuf. An internet search tells some history of the 116th Infantry Regiment spearheading the invasion at Omaha Beach on D Day for the 29th Division. Company B was there, in front, leading the attack. The history says the Regiment saw almost 300 days of combat from Omaha Beech to the meet up with the Russians in Germany. What a life you've have had. Thank you for service, courage and sacrifices.

TerryH,I was also stationed at Shemya AFB 1979-80. Not a place you wanted to be when you are 20 years old. Never been so glad to leave a place in my life but also never so close to a group of people before or after. I was a firefighter. Two things I would not change are my time in the military and being married.
