Nothing wrong with the Lucas distributers. They worked back in the day and will work just as well today. DONT buy NOS (old) condensers because their use buy date is long over and most are very leaky by now. Buy just about any modern NEW condenser and fit it on the outside of the distributer or up on the coil mounting bracket if that is easier. Remove the old condenser from inside the distributer. Regards, Kevin.

Ted,
Don't throw any of the distributor caps away if there not broken. Some folk still use um and like um (they can run real good in fine fettle) but those caps and the little front caps on some are rarer than chicken lips.

You use the mounting bracket that comes with the condenser and
mount it with the screw on the passenger side that holds the coil
on to hold it on and ground the condenser. Put a screw through the
hole in the coil sticking out the passenger side, nut and lock washer,
the lead end on the condenser wire and another lock washer and
nut. Now you condenser problem is over. G.M.
