Keith I responded to your PM, looking at your pictures one of the spring is wrong. it is to heavy. the correct springs are getting real hard to come by.

Yes JW, that big spring is a spare from my '57 Chevy, (spring missing when I got the car) but it seemed to work OK at the time.
Was working on my door today and rolled down the window and BAM! Out of nowwhere.
As you can see in pics 3&4 the tab has a crack and will break off. Another problem is the gears slip from each other, the teeth are fine it's that the gears are sloppy in the regulator frame.
Got your PM, I have another lead from another ford barner on a couple he has, if that does not pan out I will send you mine in hopes that you can work your magic.
Thanks in advance...Keith

There looks to be more going on than you suspect. Those are contankerous and you may need to just seek a new unit. There are certain "test" that need to be met as to whether a unit will be serviceable. Even if they seem to "work", with some wear, they may creep up and down.
Listen to John he has experience

Replaced the front drivers regulator today.
A fellow barn owl contacted me and offered the two front door window regulators, of course I bought them both.
Cleaned up the drivers, replaced the broken spring with one off my old ones, greased it up and cycled it several times...install.
Fit perfect, works great...many thanks to JohnB15632 for helping me with this.
AND THIS IS WHY I'M A "BARN OWL"...THE PEOPLE ARE GREAT ON HERE.
