I found this old piece of farm machinery at a salvage yard. Does anyone know what it was used for?

What did ti have attached to it? plow/blade? fence post auger?
http://www.gasenginemagazine.com/com...g-history.aspx been around a long time, sounds like it was a do it yourself tractor kit this one utilizing a model a trans.
