Default Pickup Bed Tiedowns

I am looking for two additional tiedowns for my 1930 Pickup. I have looked in all of the catalogs for Model A's that I am aware of. I thought someone on the forum might know where they might be available.

Thanks for your help!

Bob

As they are not original to the Model A beds you wouldn't find them in a Model A catalog. Not sure if it is from another year or make either. My suggestion would be ebay or swap meets.

Dan,

That would be great ! How can we do that? I am a long way from Hangtown. I would be more than happy to pay the cost of shipping it.

Although they are not original you might try Mack Products (660) 263-7444, wwwmackhils.com. I have the same ones on my truck ('31 RDPU).

Mr Grieb, I have a friend with your same last name here in Florida. He is originally from Nazareth, Israel. I think he resided in Texas for 15 years before coming here.

"Back in the Day" I got these at the local hardware store for both a '49 Ford PU and also a '58 Ford PU.

These are listed in the McMaster-Carr catalog, # 15295A1, 2, or 3:

Maybe I need to look in some junk yards or antique stores.

Thanks

Thanks for the information Carl. Dan Partain is sending me one that is an exact match for mine. I am going to try and find one more. If I can't do that I will get the one you referenced. I found their catalog online.

Is there a truck (big) shop near you that sells/installs bodies?? That style hook has probably been around for 50 years or more. Shouldn't be that hard to find. JMO

Something similar may still be available at Lowes, Home Depot, Ace, Menards, etc. I just haven't checked lately. So much has changed in the "general hardware" departments lately, it's hard to keep up with.

Another place to check would be a place near you that specializes in wire rope products.

Tried the local blacksmith? Should be an easy project for him.

Thanks to all who have responded. I want to find an exact copy. If I can't find one I will ask a blacksmith to make one.

I have a trailer made from a box with tie downs. I will check it tomorrow in the daylight and see what they look like. I want the same big bucks Dan got if I have one.
