Default Seat adjusting

I have a 31 tudor and the seats are in a fixed position. I figured I would ask the experts. Is there any way I can install any type of adjusting track under my seat? I only want to adjust it back about a inch. Then I want to adjust it back to the original position if I have to load things in and out.

What about turning the original ones around, thus moving the seat back. For a quick readjustment use a clevis pin and hair pin. The pins that go through the floor can be left a little loose. I purchased new sliders for my drivers side, but it's not very user friendly. Thanks
Also I think the seat adjustment is covered in the Ford Service manual :-)

I used a seat mech. out of a junk Saturn, welding it to 1x1x1/8 angle and narrowing it and now have 5" of travel fore and aft. Bolted the mech to the original seat mounting holes in the floor so there is no change to the body.

I used escort seats with the tracks. Very comfortable. I've seen angle iron with several holes drilled for different front to back positions. Get creative. Try researching the archives as well.

This may not be applicable to a Model A Tudor sedan, but worked well for me.
I have a 32 Tudor sedan with the original seats. The seating position seemed too low to me and I wanted the seats a bit higher. (I judge seat height by my left arm resting on the window trim. If that's comfortable, then I'm pretty happy).
My wife had a 1996 or 7 Jeep Cherokee. I did some measuring and found that the passenger seat adjusting mechanism (Passenger only, because all Jeeps, 4 wheel drive or not, have a different seat base for the driver) would fit just fine. I did have to make 4 small angle iron brackets.
When installed, these seat mechanisms raised the seats 2" in height and give almost 12"
of adjustment fore & aft.
Maybe this helps someone.

Mine has a piece of angle iron with multiple holes for adj (the adj slide for the Deluxe seat was "missing") I'm back about 6" and then made uprights to raise seat about 3". VERY comfortable driving, plus easier in and out.

Thanks flamingo I think your idea would work. With the least amount of welding and fabrication. But if I use a pice of angle iron it would be in a fixed position,I wouldn't be able to push it forward. There's times I carry tents ,coolers, chairs and people so I lift the drivers seat up to.
