Default How to replace stock OEM roof on 28/29 coupe???

Does anyone have a link or instructions to replace a stock roof on a 28/29 Ford Model A Coupe? I really dont want to buy a book or Video so hope someone has something. Did a google search and cant find much other than a padded top pickup. Used to be a great one step by step pictorial from an old timer but cant find it anymore. Thanks

From Marco's old site:

It's for a Tudor but many of the techniques should apply if it's a standard Coupe - dunno about a Special Coupe.

I followed the instructions from Marco’s website (above) to the letter for a 29 Tutor. It came out absolutely great, even considering this was my very first roof. Best of luck

Marko's instructions are good but they don't illustrate the differences between the models. I hope you have the retainers that go around the edges. That plus the materials will cost more than any literature you might purchase. There are a few threads on here about it but I haven't seen one with photos specifically about the 28/29 coupe tops. The Special coupes are more complicated and the Sport & Business Coupes are a LOT more complicated than the Standard coupes.

One thing that is very important in putting on a fabric roof during these cool days...Don't do it...Wait till the days get up into their 80's-90's. That way when you go to spread the top material over the roof, let it bake in the sun for awhile to loosen up. Other wise if you were to do it now...come summer time it will be flapping in the wind.

When tacking the top material down, always start in the center of each side, pulling and streaching...then go to where you started and put a nail on the left side, then the right of the first nail...then to the next and repeat. This way when you are done you will have a top that sounds like a drum!

Pluck
