Default T oil cans?

What is the deal with the Ford script oil cans, were they issued with the cars and how about the copper ones? Thanks

The 'copper' ones were plated steel.

Here's a bunch of different Ford Script cans I've picked up over the years.

I don't know if they were standard issue or not. My '19 roadster and '24 touring did not a firewall bracket to hold the oil can, but the can was in the roadster tool box on the running board. My '26 and '27 both have the firewall mounted brackets that holds the oil cans. I have seen brackets on brass era T's, but I don't know if they came that way.

The firewall holders were after market accessories. Here's a few I've collected over the years.

I like this oil can holder the best since it bolts under a head bolt and doesn't take up scarce firewall real estate. I get alot of comments at cars shows about the holder when I have the hood open for display. It would be great if someone were to repop these I am sure they would be a hot sales item.
