Original Firewall Color
Good Morning everyone. I was wondering if exterior firewalls were always painted the same color as the rest of the body or if instead some were painted black regardless. If necessarily always the same as balance of the body and one were looking to find original body color, the spot under an original body data plate or body number plate would tell a lot. I have a '30 Standard Murray Fordor of later year production.
Many thanks, Greg |

Re: Original Firewall Color
All were lower body color with the exception that fleet orders of cars and trucks could be custom painted.

Re: Original Firewall Color
Very well Bob and thanks. So we should note that for anyone searching for original color, under the firewall tags and other hidden areas of such are great places to look. I actually found mine which was black under the cowl band near the bottom with paint in perfect protected condition.

A good example of this effect is shown in the picture at the top of Page 1-9 in Area 1 - Engine Compartment |
