Who makes the round chrome button for 35 ignition
On the ignition switch for a 35/36 car, there is a chrome button about 3/4" diameter that goes in and out when you turn the key on or off. It's pressed on the end of the ignition shaft. Does anyone know if this part is being reproduced.

I don't think it is being reproduced. Someone should reproduce it, however.

If you know someone who owns a lathe they could make one for you. Instead of doing a press fit, it could be made to fit loose and then drilled and tapped for a small set screw to hold it on the shaft.

All that work for an unauthentic repro part? Set screw is a NO NO.

SS would be my material selection. Then when polished would look like chrome. One small allen head set screw positioned correctly to hold it on the shaft would probably never be seen if car is too be judged. I'm surprised that Henry didn't make it this way but maybe he wanted to save a few cents.

I purchased that end cap from Roy N a few years ago as a separate item (not in a kit), at the time his item number was T-06-03.
Not sure if its still offered......give him a call 734-654-9450
