Default chrome windshield 1930 Cabriolet paint

The guidelines state that part of the inside of the chrome windshield was painted satin black lacquer. Does anyone know how much of the inside windshield frame should be black? I was thinking only the bottom part that the sun might reflect should be black, but leave the sides and slide arm connection areas chrome. Any advice?

thanks,
Kim

everything on the inside is satin black. the only part of the frame that stay finished chrome is the outside. and what I mean by the outside is only what you see when the frame is in the closed position. just like the A400.

Thanks. Are the little two side projections for the slide arms black also?

JW, Thanks. I have not ever seen a properly restored Model A since I started reading guidelines and now know a little bit of what to look for, so it is nice to have advice on what is right. I will tape it all off again and paint over the inside half the re-chromed $800 original frame...

Won't be the last thing I did, or will do wrong, I am sure. LOL

edited to add that I do see several pictures of car show cars where the chrome window slide mounts look chrome from the outside so still a bit unsure if maybe they are chrome facing out and black facing in or not.

I like to paint the frame before installing the glass, that way you can get paint all the way around those brackets.

John is spot on (as usual).
To confirm, I've had a few originals that could be examined to confirm what he is saying
Another observation is the originals look to have been "blackened" with a brush
Original brush marks showing and don't look like repaint
