I agree, I don't like the drama in these shows too. Would rather just see things done with a more serious flare.
The Gas Monkey guys do have the drama, but they do turn out some nice work too. I know a lot of Ford Barner's probably don't care for the modifications, since they rarely leave a car or truck stock. Plus they use brand X powertrains a lot.

brand x power trains are cheap.... might be the reason.

The Motor Trend Chanel is a disaster. Pretty much gutted all that was watchable on the old Velocity channel when MT took over.

They spend what seems to be most of the hour advertising their subscription service, which I will never pay money for. Most of the programming on the MT channel is ancient reruns now. I don’t know if I have the patience to wait for the shows now on the subscription service to come to the MT channel. Now may be an opportune time to drop the Direct TV down a tier, and eliminate MT and the other channels I don’t watch anyway, and reduce the monthly bill.
