I am starting out slow cause of the econonmy and its a mess but I'm planning out my moves, engine first it's closest to me, next frame, body, and running gear, rear axle from hot rod works, it's gonna put 3:78 or 4:05 gears in it and they have my brakes covered to. What do you guys think?

You can't go wrong with Hot Rod Works. Make sure you have your action plan on paper with numbers that you can handle. Otherwise you will be throwing good money after bad if you keep changing plans along the way. Say your prayers and keep treating your grandparents with love and kindness. You said you were a couple of years out of HS. Have you thought about community college to hone your auto building skills?

You just keep-on pounding on that keyboard like you have for the past three days (101 posts) and you'll be the most-senior member on the 'Barn by the middle of August. DD

You might want to consider getting a first car type thing late 40's early 50's are cheap. In WV you may even scrounge up a free truck or something. Fix it, learn how to work on a flathead and sell it for seed money on a rod. Face it, you need experience before you build a dream rod. Something that isn't going to break the bank if you screw it up.

The only dumb question is one you don't ask. There are a lot of very knowlegable people who post regularly on here. You can learn a lot (I know I did and still am). You got "Senior Member" status - see your Avatar - by making over 100 posts.
