Re: Intake bolts THICK
Nice work Michael. I can't imagine where I'd be with my projects if not for Third Gen Automotive.

Michael,
To say you are stepping up is sure accurate and an understatement.....We know Roy is smiling . Roy loved the phone too, he seemed to never tire of verbal contact. Charlie ny |

Re: Intake bolts THICK
Thanks a bunch Mike! I too would love them in stainless - be happy to spring for $50 as I don't need to watch them rust over time (even CAD plated stuff rusts - due to the wear that tools put on the finish).

I applaud you Michael! We need so much more of this to get America back on its feet! Beautiful bolts btw! My Dad had a screw machine and used to make stuff like that, I know what’s involved. I bet I was the only kid in America that made a scale model of the Alamo with cannons made from real brass. My dad made them for me! |

Re: Intake bolts THICK
I'm sorry I never reported back. Yes they are available and we've sold a good few of them thus far.
Ralph M, I thought of buying a davenport screw machine, but after spending a few hours watching a guy at the shop I use, I determined there is more to it than I realized and a huge risk for losing fingers.. |

Re: Intake bolts THICK
Lov it, somebody has a screw machine. I worked in a shop that had a dozen of them in various sizes. Nice to see them put to good use.

Re: Intake bolts THICK
Phil,
I've emailed you.. 42Merc, I presume you say that due to the extreme height of the head.. They are taller than original, and honestly I did them that way because I like the way they look when installed. |

Finally I bit the bullet and had some thick headed intake bolts made. Roy made these years ago but had been out of them for years due to the cost these days to make such items. The heads are thicker than most originals but once we have them cadmium plated I believe they will really look nice on a engine. Was told in the first post : Thicker than original. They are nice, but there are purists on here that are biting their tongue. I'm not looking to argue, just commenting on what I read. Last edited by 42merc; 04-22-2020 at 10:43 AM. |

For comparative measure this is how they appear installed.
