Thread sizes
That's a good title for this thread! What is the thread size for the cap on the 1934 steering box. I took mine off, couldn't find the right grease then had an Old Timers attack and drove off. It's gone now, Dang!!! are they available? I also want to know the thread size on the later model hydraulic brake light switch. Thanks, Byron.

Re: Thread sizes
I can probably find one in my stash. I will have a look. It is a special thread so you will not find a bolt that size. Please do not use grease!!!! It will end up ruining your gearbox. I can put a real lip seal on the sector if you want to seal it up.

Join the club on forgetting things. Yesterday I asked my wife to go for a little picnic. she was busy getting things ready for weekend company so it was on again off again. I was topping off the oil and antifreeze when she came into the garage and said, 'lets go". As I' driving up the mountain, I realized that I had forgotton to put the metal breather back on the stand up tube. I confess to my wife that I'm getting a little forgetful when she points to the hood area. Low and behold, I forgot to put the radiator cap back on. Well, we had a great time at the lake but I'm starting to worry. My boys may not have taken all those missing tools after all!! |
