Default 7RT carb question

Hi, FordBarners. My project is a '50 f1. I would like to use the 7RT carb that came with the truck but the fuel inlet threads are so buggered that only a couple of threads will catch. Can I take the top off a "59" or "8BA" carb and use it without any problems other than the design of how the air cleaner is attached? Thanks for your help.

You can if you dont have the hi-lift nozzel bars in the 7RT.The left bar sticks up and the cover will not go all the way on.There is a little bump to accomidate the hi-lift bar on the left side of the cover. ken ct.
