I use a brand new 3 ton scissor jack that I got off of Craigs List for $10.00. I tested it, it works great, keep it under the seat and I hope that I never need it.

I was on a tour several years ago when I had 4 flats in one day. We traveled on pavement, asphalt, gravel, and dirt roads. My walker flip top got a workout. Had to borrow two wheels from other cars to keep going. At night at the motel, I was patching tubes, pulling out barb wire, and a rusty roofing nail. The third was a split seam. The fourth flat was due to my spare tube leaking at the valve stem after I had replaced the split seam tube. Ended up borrowing a tube as well. Besides the jack I have always carried a patch kit, spare tube, valves, a set of tire irons, and a 12vdc tire pump. Hard to get air in the boonies at night with no service stations open, but the motel pool is handy for checking leaks.

Strangest thing I've seen, a 1/2 X 9/16 open end wrench, rumbling around in a tubeless tire! YES, it was FLAT, but just on the bottom!

Sounds like you started out with tires that were in poor condition. Wayne

I carry a flip-top jack, never had to use it on the road. For a while I used it in my garage (I didn't have a real hydraulic jack), but I eventually bit the bullet and bought a modern jack. I was surprised at how easy the old jacks were to use -- mechanical advantage is a wonderful thing.

I use a bottle jack or the small floor jack I keep in my delivery.

I carry a 25 ton bottle hyd jack (larger base) with 2 adaptors made from iron pipe and U channel for front axle and iron pipe and flat bar shaped in a u for the rear end. I live in rural Nevada and have bailed out a lot of 4 wheelers while driving my 1931 coupe to town..
Good Luck and have FUN

Some years ago we were driving our minivan along a local urban highway when a pickup in front of us dropped a load of porcelain tiles. We lost all four tyres. The nearly $1,000 bill was on us as the truck took off and never came back.

I carry an original jack and have used it several times . In fact the only tools I carry are the original tool kit . They are all made to purpose and work really well
