Muffler identification
I just picked up a new muffler that has been in storage for a while. I am hoping to ID the make of the muffler from the numbers stamped into the body: I O E H1D (as shown).

Re: Muffler identification
A picture of the welds near the front of the muffler, and the pipe curve would help to ID ot.

Re: Muffler identification
I can tell you what is is not....it is not an Aries, nor an original. There were 2 cheap repops, and this is probably one of them

Re: Muffler identification
Do a search as there was just picture posted a short time ago that had several mufflers side by side.

Re: Muffler identification
The numbers and letters on the side are characteristic of what we used to call the cheap 50 dollar muffler. The 2 spot welds visible in the picture are fastening a baffle inside that is also what the cheap muffler has. There will be similar spot welds for another baffle near the other end of the muffler. Your muffler will work fine, but will provide some flow resistance if your engine is souped up and you are running full power.
