Many years ago it was possible to buy a can of parts cleaner, with a basket inside. About one quart. Anyone remember that, and what was the name? Had a nice bouquet also and is it still around?

Berrryman offers a gallon can with a basket....it's supposed to be carb and parts cleaner. I've used it. Works OK if you let things soak a while....

I'm familiar with that product and bought some just a few months ago. Still smells good. Berryman Chem-Dip

Wall-Mart sell one I can't remember the name but says carburetor cleaner on the can. It works pretty good.

I remember buying it in gallon cans for like 2.99.
Try it today and it's more like 10 dollars plus.
I sure do miss the good old days.

I use to buy this one for many years. Worked great. Cant find it any more and nothing now days compares to this.

I agree. Nothing cleaned better than McKay's Parts Dip. I had an old can for years until it "cleaned" it's way through the side of the can.

I have an older can of GUNK that I use for 'special parts' that cleans pretty good. Nothing like the way McKay's did though.

Funny you said that. Years ago when I walked in to my garage, I smelled that dip and went over and picked the can up and the bottom was half eaten away. Now that stuff really worked.

Wish I could find it again.

I have a can I bought at NAPA that's called carb cleaner. But what I use the most is Stoddard's Solvent. I buy it in a 5-gallon can, lasts several years.

I also had one similar to the ones pictured back in the 60's, ate thru the can, stunk the cellar up for months. My mother was NOT happy. Dad shrugged.
