I was not happy with the stock sheet metal accelerator clip on the firewall so I carved this out of aluminum. Not to difficult.

Thanks guys but its far from perfect, should shape up to be a nice driver. A lot of earned learning on this one.

The pics don't do the color justice at all, my camera bites....

Nice work. It seems that everyone is restoring pickups these days. My son and I started out almost '20 years ago with a '40 project that included another parts truck. Ours were a lot rustier than your "wrecks", so we bought another parts truck for its frame and a cab with solid floors. I rarely see a frame that is not rusted out in front of the right kickup. Floors and cab corners also tend to be rusty. These are from Oklahoma and Kansas. I'd hate to see what happens to those in the northeast. Will post photo when I get a little further along.

Pretty much buttoned up the engine/wiring stuff. Have to install the road draft tube and choke/throttle rods.

I think the cap you have is an aftermarket type, or made up piece. There is no road draft tube, it is built into the pan. It should have a conventional oil filler cap/filter at that location.

Shame you are letting her go.

Mart.

Two of my '41's came with that style of cap, they are both identical. I've seen other trucks around here too with the same caps, maybe its a Canadian thing. The metal tube isn't on in the pic.

As for letting go, well, that's a bit of wishful thinking in itself. Nobody around here has any $$ to buy it, and crossborder always kills deals. I've tried to pay people to buy it (pretty much) and can't get it gone. I need a family car that seats 4.
