Bronze Bushings, removing and installing professionally Part 2 Distributor
I wanted to replaced the bronze bushing in the front of my V8 distributor. It is a blind hole and the hardest bushing to remove. As always no hammering, driving, and no slap hammer. It is aluminum and needs the best of care. I tapped the bushing with a 1/2" 13 tap half way through using the upmost care not to go into the aluminum. Next I screwed in my homemade bushing remover, tightened the nut on the top of the tool, and out came the bushing. My photos show how easy it was to do. And the new bushing should be pressed in with a arbor press straight parallel. Please look at my post for bushing removing and installing part 1.
