Default Leaking Spark Plugs

Just put a NOS set of AC spark plugs in an engine (old plugs needed cleaning and I didn't have the time at the moment). After running for awhile, I noticed oil seeping out around the #1 and #2 plugs. Plugs weren't loose and there was no seepage (that I was aware of) around the old plugs. Can there be that much discrepancy in plug fit?

Yes, ..... when you consider the wear on the threads in the head.

Moreover, that compression washer isn't the best seal in the world either. Ever left an engine out in the weather?
