What is missing under the special nut for rumble handle? Looks like about 3/8 inch of something.

Missing...the tin lock tab....BUT ...the hole looks large and the stem of the handle
looks long. Dudley

It looks like the repro handle has a shaft that is too long. Oddly, it doesn't look like the shaft is long enough for a '30-31 decklid.

The plating on the handle doesn't look repro to me but I didn't buy the handle. The plating looks like nickel to me. The shaft is 1 1/8inch long.

Original handles were not cast.

if you notice the step in the sheet metal around the area of the latch the 30-31 are flat in that area what you have an early deck lid it takes a shorter handle shaft. John hash
