Default Surprise at local show...

Got a real surpise at a local show today in Scranton, Pa.

Stumbled across a '31 Roadster Pickup sporting a Roof "Cyclone 101" F-head conversion !

Rest of truck was fairly stock, aside from 16" wire-wheels and a B-W OD.

Believe this is a repro head, but boy what a set-up !

Carbs are for the Ford Flat-head Six.

The gold-ish carbs and brass rocker-covers caught my attention from over 50 ft away !

Definitely my Model A highlight of the day!

The owner is really nice, and lives in Honesdale, PA, so I'm sure our paths will cross again.

NICE! Thanks for posting the photos. I do think it is a modern reproduction, the originals were made in Anderson, Indiana. This may be something Dan Price had added to his line of Ford A & B speed parts. Good guy that has been making heads for close to 30 years now.

Nice deal. Looks like only the center carb is being used.

Good eyes. The owner said he just got this set-up on the truck in early May, in time to get it to the big cruise in Ocean City, MD.

He got the three carbs ( originally for the Ford Flathead Six ) from a carb builder down in the Carolinas (?), and he is still working-out linkage geometry to get the three carbs working.

I had only heard of Roof heads, perhaps saw an original ad for them, but this was the first time I've seen one in person, or in a modern photo !

Cool, cool, cool !

( Wonder how well they worked ? )
