Default Father's Day and 20 year old daughter

Tomorrow morning I leave for Marquette so I will not be home on Father's Day. Last night my daughter said lets go celebrate early and I will take you out for ice cream....and I will drive you in the Model A! She has never driven a stick before . Kristen did 40 miles behind the wheel and not only did I have the time of my life, so did she. What a memory we made together. Just wanted to share a story. Dan Cargo

Dan,

Your early Father's Day celebration brings to mind two happy thoughts. One was last Father's Day. My wife and middle daughter were in Italy. So, my (youngest) 21-year-old took me out to a brew pub for a designer beer and a pizza. She instisted that she would pick up the tab, and she did -- with her debit card.
How often does that happen?

Being a passenger in your own Model A is the other happy thought. While I had insisted that my wife learn to start and drive our Model A, she seemed quite content on the curbside of the seat. That has been her territory for the last 20K miles or so. On an evening drive last Saturday, she requested the controls. I pulled over and she took over the driver's side. She must have enjoyed it, because when we went for a drive last evening, Jan climbed in on MY SIDE. It was an enjoyable ride, although I do cringe alot when the engine lugs down or the transmission makes that grindy noise.

Back in 94 we drove Model As to the MAFCA national in Tacoma Wa. My wife and I drove our 30 deluxe delivery and our 28 year old twin daughters drove our 28 tudor. They alternated days and we all had a great time.
