Unity is still in business, if there driving lights are anything like their spot lights the parts are interchangeable with the newer stuff. That being said they may still make the original ones too, or they may even be able to do a factory rebuild.

Unity is in business but they no longer have parts for the early road lights. Since the lights are not dated how do you know the lights are proper for 38? I have had the shells replated and the reflector can be resilvered. If the light bulb sockets are good they can be rewired. Broken glass is a big problem since you may not find the proper shade of color to match. The retaining rings and hardware do show up on Ebay from time to time. I am not aware of anyone restoring road lights.

I've had a few unity lights that are stamped "1937 Pennsylvania Approved " , other than that no way to date them as far as I know

The Ford logo appeared sometime during 1938.
Check the 38/39 EFV8 manual.

Yes these are the ones that are stamped ford on top they were very hard to find even in bad condition like I found them mine are actually 1939 lights because these lights were 38 39 only with the ford logo and in 39 they put the notch in the top of the housing that the reflector lines up with which is the ones I have. You can’t tell the difference unless you take them apart as long as you use the correct bracket that was only made for 37 and 38.
