Default model model A

No, that is not double talk. I would love to find a plastic kit or die cast model of a Tudor model A. One company I did find did have a die cast one, but I am not willing to pay $70+ for one. So does anybody know where I might find such a thing. Most any scale would be ok. I have models of all the classic cars I have owned in my life. Although some of them weren't classics when I had them.lol.

I've picked up Hubley models at flea markets for as little as $5. Most I've paid is $30.

If you don't mind the MAFCA logo, MAFCA sells one on their website:

That is a nice looking model...was it from a kit or already made when you go it? What company?

Thanks for sharing!

Try contacting AMT/ERTL or MONOGRAM or REVELL...they also have made them in the past at 1/24 scale.

If you are looking for an HO scale kit, Jordan Highway Miniatures makes a nice 1928 Tudor:

There are a bunch of them for sale on eBay right now or you can find them through your local hobby/train store or via many online model train dealers.

...or if you are looking for something larger, Minicraft (formerly Entex) makes a 1931 "2-Door Sedan" model kit in 1/16:
new version (licensed by Ford):

....or this older version (not licensed by Ford):

...all available on eBay or through most hobby shops online. The above two would make a really nice remote control car......anybody made one?

About 15 years ago I picked up a set of shelves with 18 Franklin Mint models on them. This 30 Tudor was one of the few fords in the collection I got.The lower body color is not what it looks like in the picture. It is Kewannee green, much different from the computer picture.

I have a Hubley 30 Ford (Dare I say it?) Town Sedan in Die cast which is pretty detailed. Some parts are plastic, headlights, taillights (2) Trunk rims and seats. It looks like they tried to do a good job as this model has parts that are screwed together, The hood is removable and the engine is also pretty detailed, even has a red rubber radiator hose! Unfortunately, it was never painted. I also have a 31 Tudor in plastic. Detailed, but not so accurately, better than some, but made in China, no name.

My god, what a beautiful ‘30 tudor for $40. I just wish it had the rear spare instead of the side-mounted one. And paint, you could paint that thing any color you wanted for under $10.

It’s almost as good as it was 60 years ago. Whoops, maybe better. These cars can be worked on in your front room.

I have s/n 2938/4500 so there should be more out there. Excellent detail - clamshell, battery box etc. even a map in the r/h door pocket.

Are the serial numbers on the car somewhere? I have never wiped these models down, they were covered with up to 1/2 inch of dust when I got them.I blew them off and set them on the shelf for me to get to cleaning someday. All the dust is on the tops, none on the undercarriages.Because of the dust I had never opened the doors on any of these.I just blew this one off again and looked,it has a map just like yours. The detail really is something, there is even woodgrain on the bottoms of the floorboards. There are only two door hinges instead of three, and they stand out badly in the pictures. They don't look near as bad directly to the eye.

S/n is a tag on the bottom in back of the axel.

Mine has a brass plate with simulated rivets on each end between the axel and rear frame. Sorry, no pics.

I can't see any sign of glue there. But,that model went through extremes of heat and cold for a long time.It was in an addition to a house that was not lived in for a while. It went through winters and summers of sub-zero to 100 degree heat.It could have fallen off.I went to tear the addition off with a backhoe and ripped one wall off.I saw the back of a wood shelving unit with what looked like a model car on the top.I went in to grab it and found there was a bunch of them.An estate cleanout crew had been there, and when those guys are done there is usually NOTHING left worth over a nickel.I know this particular crew, and after they were in there I wouldn't even bother looking inside after they were there.Somehow they missed the whole cabinet.

I just posted the picture so you could see that plastic models of Tudor sedans do exist. I didn’t expect to sell them. But if someone walks in my shop waving a handful of bills and wants them, sure.

I have picked up some of the Entex and Minicraft kits off eBay. I haven't had a chance to assemble them yet, but they seem pretty nice. Since they are a larger scale they have a lot more detail compared to the smaller scales. It is fun to go through the parts sprue and identify the various little detail pieces. The kits also come with an extra fender, so you can decide if you want a side or rear mount spare.

There is a Tudor, Pickup, Roadster and a Sedan Delivery; as well as a hot rod version of the Pickup and Tudor. I just wish they had a Fordor but no such luck. I usually pick them up for about $20-$30. The Tudor's don't seem to show up as often and when they do, they usually go for a bit higher price.

I have the same model that is pictured on the left. It is Minicraft p/n 11211.

With a Google search I found this:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/1931-model-...QAAOSwaSZaEwEy

http://www.hobbylinc.com/htm/mmi/mmi11211.htm

PS I have a $25. price tag on mine. One of these cold days I maybe tempted to break the seal and sniff some model glue...
