Default Factory Air Cleaner

I recently purchased a "51 Ford V8. What is the correct orientation of the air cleaner? Does the lip where the air enters face forward? Which would put the tightener on the left side of the engine.

Just so we are starting out on the right foot, the left side of the engine is
the Drivers side, and the tightener should be on the drivers side.
