is the handle on the floor next to gear shifter?

or did they also come on the drivers side kick panel ?

by the way I'm working on a 1941 ford pickup

Not 100% sure about trucks, but '36 Ford pass. cars and light comm. vehicles were the last to have the ebrake handle on the floor next to the gear shift lever. In '37 they were relocated beneath the dash on drivers side.

The 39 pickups had the emergency brake handle by the kick panel.

Your '41 pickup should have the brake on the left side by the cowl panel. The mounting bracket bolts to the bottom of the dash and the firewall.

My 41 pickup actually has two bolts through the dash with the bolt heads sticking up out of the dash. Is this correct? Are there pictures anywhere?

What size truck? 1/2 ton or larger?

that is correct, the bolt heads are covered by the inside windshield garnish moulding

1/2 ton '41 p/u's had the e brake under the dash to the left of the steering wheel. Big trucks had the e brake bolted to the trans with the handle to the right of the shifter. I have a complete assembly from a '41 p/u if you need one. PM me if interested.

Thanks for the info. I have a 1/2 ton. Mine appears correct although one of the dash holes is elongated, possibly swapped with a similar model that had a minor change at some point. If someone could give me the center to center hole distance for the dash mount I could tell for sure, mine is 1 1/8 inches. Everything else seems to line up OK. It's difficult sometimes putting a car back together that someone else has taken apart.
