Re: Fumaze
I have been looking for a Fumaze for some time and I have to ask....
...are these really valued at $322.50 or did this eBay auction get out of hand? |

Re: Fumaze
I think the auction got out of hand. The real value is in the 100.00 dollar range. But as you can see the cost of an item depends on what people are willing to pay. I have 3 Model A's and they all have a Fumaze. I had them powder coated. I like the looks on the nicely painted engine.

Re: Fumaze
Rip--
I think that the answer to your question is, yes. I think that if the tube extends below enough to be in the slip stream that there would be a slightly lower pressure generated which would help evacuate the crank case. Please don't take my answer as gospel as I do not claim to be a guru here as many are. I was just surprised that you did not get an answer.

Re: Fumaze
My engine came with a flex tube oil filler cap, and it does a good job of evacuating the oil fumes. It also keeps the left side of the engine from getting oily.

Re: Fumaze
In my opinion with engine pans I don't believe the Fumaze works as well as the flexible tube type that you can route down into the slip stream under the car, creating a low pressure at the end of the tube.
But the Fumaze is more 'period correct'. |

Re: Fumaze
I have the flex tube type. That is why I was not wanting to sound too dogmatic with my previous post. The flex tube definately creates a low pressure at the outlet in the slip stream. Works well with engine pans installed. Bernoulli principle.

Re: Fumaze
good question about the engine pans; I added a piece of prebent black radiator rubber hose to the bottom of the Fumaze and extended it out and down the pan to direct the fumes, if any under the car. I wonder if the high compression head ( came on my engine) changes the breathing some which appears to be a little bit "more" than I'm used to. I'm now trying a '32 style larger pipe and cap and see how that performs.

Re: Fumaze
Vermin has a flip top filler, but the flexible tube is missing. I'll use a piece of flexible electrical conduit. (CHEEP!)
A friend had one, his blow by was SO bad, he extended the tube to the BACK of the truck! BUT, he ran the truck from here to Canada & back! AMAZING! Bill W.
