Default Brake light switch

I got to replace the brake light switch on my '52 Ford Customline. How much brake fluid will I lose?
Thanks

If you have everything right at hand, and you are pretty fast about it, you may lose a thimble full.

do you use DOT 5? if you do make sure you have a compatible switch otherwise it will fail after about 2000 miles or less

Using a Harley-Davidson brake light switch will prevent failure when using silicone (DOT5) fluid.

Just bought the car - so don't know for sure about the fluid - changed the switch with no issues - brake lights work now. Thanks all.

Blu, Nice looking ride. What have you got under the hood. Hope to see it in person come spring time.

Hi Butch it's got a flathead V 8 of coarse. 34,000 mile car that's going to get the wheels driven off of it. LOL Its a real nice car all over and now i can haul my whole family it it too. Can't wait for spring to show it off to every one.

In my experience, probably not more than few drips if you are quick to replace it. Have the new one in one hand while unscrewing the old one with the other hand.
