Gas tank shut off
I want to rebuild a shut off valve that had become almost impossible to operate. I ordered a rebuild kit from Bratton's that comes with a lead packing ring and some special sauce in a little container, but when I opened up my valve I don't see any lead packing. What I do see is a spring and a rubber or neoprene O ring. Is this how the repop valves are made now? I used some lapping compound on the brass valve and cleaned it out, so is there any thing I should put on the O ring to help it seal better? Thanks.

Your neoprene seal must be the replacement that probably has been sold for quite a few years now. I'd think either seal would be fine. |
