Another One Bites The Dust....
I was just cruising through eBay in the Model-A Ford section. And lo and behold I find a collection of "A" parts from a car that has just been rodded up for auction. The sad part of it all is the car/parts look like that real nice original but a little ragged blue 1930 Tudor. With the trunk on the back that folded open with the spare attached to it. That was for sale here on the 'barn Model-A swap meet section for the longest time. I used to look at it and say that I sure hope somebody buys this nice "A" and does her right....... I better not say anything more because I might get in trouble.

Think about how nice it is now that one of us can buy it for our future project?? I love it when the parts are nice! Can't save them all but the two hobbies support one another.

Re: Another One Bites The Dust....
"Rodders" are getting quite a few of the Model A's. Just look at the rod magazines. Most of my "restorer" friends already own two or more stock Model A's and are seldom interested in buying the more common body styles. In fact, I had a rodder friend (he usually builds 40's and 50's cars) call me the other night saying that he had found a nice Model A and wanted to know if I would be interested in the running chassis. He was only interested in the rust free body.

Re: Another One Bites The Dust....
I recently read an article in one of the hot rod magazines in reference to the Model A becoming more popular with the hot rodders. The theory is that the coveted 32 is getting out of reach in price for the younger guys, therefore they are looking at the Model A as an alternative, also the muscle cars have been priced out of their reach for the most popular of those models.
So I would thing, for someone building an all original car, the availability of original parts should increase. However, It will most likely drive the cost of purchasing the project car up.

No 'trouble' from adult thinking individuals. Think 'symbiotic relationship' in regards to this situation, i.e.- stockers vs rodders. Me and several other guys drive our stock As to Bobs Big Boy each Friday. There I know many rodders who do their thing. Last week a very nice rodder that I know ask me if I would like a model a chassis, etc , from a restored a that he has already started to 'small block' ! They buy from us and we get back from them |

I believe there are plenty of A's left for ALL to enjoy as they see fit.
