Default 34 hood

Trying to find out the length and diameter of the two rods that go to the top part of the hood(not the side rods that connect the side hood and top hood). They go thru the piano hinge and attach at the radiator and cowl. Also how is the stainless trim piece that goes down the center attached?
Thanks,
Bob L.

Bob The center item that holds the two top halves of hood is a stainless item. The hood is designed to just slide it on one side and then with help from someone you can slide the other side on. now you havea hood top, you will need help to install on the car. one person on one side and one on the other. There are two pcs that you will need they are both the same, one goes on the top of firewall and is attached with flathead screws & nuts the other attaches to the top oo a 34 radiatoir just flathead screws no nuts required. The part tha attaches to the top center of firewall should go on first. Hope this helps. These parts are available from a number of sources!

If you are doing a fancy car, lots of folks use a stainless rod thru the piano hinge so no rust from a steel rod bleeds thru on your nice paint

So what is the length and diameter of the rods? Thanks for the explanation. I see how it goes together now.

1/4" X 38 1/4" - if you have the hood you will know the length anyway. Home Depot used to have 1/4" stainless rod stock at one time.

So the only thing holding the two tops of the hood is the stainless trim piece?

If you can find an original center stainless strip, I highly recommend it. They fit much better than the repros I've encountered.

Thanks everyone for your help. I have the original stainless. Now I have figured out how it all goes together with everyone's help. Again thank you.
