Default oil filter help

Attempting to install a stock oil filter on my 8BA and I'm missing the fitting that goes on the bottom of the canister that the return line to pan connects to. The hole appears to be 1/8 pipe but I'm not sure. The return pipe has a flare fitting. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There are (2) of the same 1/8" pipe x 1/4" inverted flare fittings.
One on the canister and one on the side of the engine.

The bottom fitting should have an internal orifice of about 1/16" size. This prevents the oil from circumventing the engine internal oil system, while allowing some circulation thru the filter element. If you don't have the original type fitting, you can solder the fitting shut, then drilling the hole.

Believe the single restrictor is in the inlet fitting. The stand pipe in the center of the filter has two restrictor holes in it, the bottom fitting should not have a restrictor. 51Merc posted a photo of the stand pipe holes. The idea is to restrict the input to the filter but double the area of the exit though the stand pipe to keep the internal pressure within the filter canister down.
