Default When replacing a condenser, where does the insulating washer go?

I don't know what order it goes in. Sorry if it is not clear what I am asking.

The washer installs on the tab of the lower plate. The easiest way to install it is to glue it to the tab before you install the lower plate.

Thank you for the rapid reply. Does it go on the screw side of the tab or the condenser side of the tab? It looks like, in your picture, to be on the screw side.

Is it possible to hold the screw/washer in place while replacing the condenser, or does the distributor need to be disassembled in order to replace the condenser?

Changing the condenser is a very easy one minute job IF you follow these steps:

Lay the new condenser next to the distributor and unscrew the ground screw FIRST.

Walk to the driver's side and unscrew the terminal screw and keep holding light pressure on the screw.

Slip out the old condenser and slip in the new condenser and turn in the terminal screw.

Walk to the passenger side and turn in the ground screw. JOB DONE

Forgot to mention........if you have 6 helpers, the job could take an hour.

Do not be tempted leave this washer out. The copper screw will bottom out before making a tight connection. If you try and force it you will ruin the condenser.

Now that all this is done, is there a plastic or rubber plug that should go in the hole after all is said and done? I know originally there was some sort of sealing wax in there that got destroyed the first time this got changed out 150 years ago.

Thanks for all the help. This is the type of knowledge one needs prior to needing to use it.
