I have never seen this truck before a real survivor . Sadly in the UK some AA trucks suffer the same fate as those in USA . They can be bought at a reasonable price as not everyone has the space to store/park . Rodders buy them for the cab and sheet metal, no one wants the "bones" and apart from the engine the rest goes for scrap . I know of several that met this fate . I heard of one fairly recenrly which had six good Budd type 5 hole wheels ,I phoned the scrap yard but had just missed them they had been put in cars and then crushed to a cube . Only hope this lovely old truck escapes the same fate . The fender lights are not original looks like Lucas (The Prince of Darkness" !!! .

John in rain on the way yet again Suffolk County England .

Yes, it's a real survivor the rig even looks operational. I'd agree with John on the fender lights Steve (Lucarse)

This truck has been rebodied at some time in its long life with other upgrades ,this was fairly standard on a working truck especially as garage owned . My June 1930 cabriolet is registered KR 5934 so is over 3000 vehicles after this truck . KR is a Kent County registration . It was likely first registererd for road use in early 1930 so would have had the square "cracker box" cab . It has the heavy front axle which just could be original but it has the late 31 "Budd" type wheels as they have the embossed lug nut area . In England they were made by Kelsey Hayes who had a plant here . On the backside they have the "KH" trade mark in a stamped circle also another circle bisected with a line showing month number and year number above each other . More totally useless information from The Mother Country !!! Actually was reading a National Geographic magazine which gave the ethic background of the USA . 50% English,49% German,40% Irish so maybe we are not so much Mother Country anymore !!!

John in same weather Suffolk County England .

AA trucks don't usually have S/S headlites. Trucks were always a 'left overs' percipient, so the '29 bumper would not be too strange, except that AA's had a real beefy one-piece bumper and I doubt that it would have had a car bumper - especially a Tow Truck. The AAA (auto club) emblem on top of the license plate would be seen as strange on a Brit. Lorrie - or is it just AA ?

That reminds me of a conversation I had a while ago with a guy from Canada who was teasing (I hope) when he said that we have the steering wheel on the wrong side. I pointed out that it is the RIGHT side whereupon, he said that they drive on the RIGHT side of the road. I agreed with him but said that we drive on the CORRECT side of the road and sit on the RIGHT side of the car. About now, another beer arrived - just in time.

I saw the fender lights on MANY cars on the Buenes Aries Model A Club website. Also interesting, are the Oil Bath Air Cleaner set ups! Also, there seemed to be a lots of different Factory colors available there???? Also noticed a LOT of Phaetons!

English built trucks did not have factory front bumpers but they were a popular add on as the bumper iron holes in the frame horns were there . Maybe some early 28 AA trucks had them but the 30/31 did not . There is a famous picture of the first vehicle leaving Fords huge new Dagenham Essex plant ,it was an AA truck with no bumpers .The main roof of the plant covered 34 acres .The headlamps would have a mild steel bucket with stainless door . English headlamps were not marked "Two Light" as they were single bulb reflectors as they had fender lamps required by law . The fender lamps were cute minatures of the headlamps .

Charlville, just a minor correction. The steering wheel is on the RIGHT side. It's theirs on the opposite side that make them WRONG HAND DRIVE!
