Tudor body removal
I recently bought a rebuilt rolling chassis for my '30 Tudor and have been moving some of my parts over to finish some items that were missing. I'm just about ready to move the body over and was wondering whether or not 4 or 5 guys can pick it up off the old frame and move it to the new one without suffering from hernias? This is my first attempt at rebuilding a car. Thanks for any help or suggestions. Glen

Re: Tudor body removal
Yes, carefully. Probably easier with shift tower removed and steering wheel/mast lowered or removed. Take front and rear seats out also to "lighten" it a bit. FWIW

I agree with Paul. Remove as much as possible. Make sure you remove the throttle linkage on the back of the engine. I've seen many a smashed ones after changing the body, they are a real P.I.T.A. to straighten afterwards.

Lift up body
Roll in new chassis under body (easier than walking around with it) Lower |

Make sure you use good boards. I helped lift a pickup cab and one of the boards had a large knott that made the board crack. |

Re: Tudor body removal
I had five helpers with my Tudor and we did it like Mitch said, only we moved it to a rolling platform for removal. Four guys lifted, two watched front and back for obstructions or trouble (actually, I think those extra two were there for the free beer). Walking around with it is asking for disaster.
