Default New 30 Tudor interior install. Any advice?

Well the title says it all. I'm getting ready to put a new LB interior into my 30 Tudor, and I have no idea what I'm doing. I'm sure some of you have done them yourselves. So, any tips?

Thanks in advance,

Jon

The first thing you need to do is buy a decent pair of hog ring pliers, extra rings, air stapler that shoots brads also.

Mitch, Will my standard 16 gauge Bostich brad gun work? or am I going to have to go smaller?

Here is what I purchased from lowes for around 50.00. I used 3/8 staples and small brads....
On the lebaron Bonney web site be sure to look at their how to videos which are very helpful. Even if it's a different kind of seat being shown the basic principle still applys. I did my complete Tudor myself it was a learning experience as I am far from a seamstress type of person. The kits are put together very well, so feel free to PM me as u go.. Are you doing the headliner also??

Hey Mitch, Thanks for the helpful info. I'm doing the whole interior of the car (cardboard on the cowl, rubber floor mat, all seats, and the rest of the works including the headliner. Having a cohort to aid in this process would be much appreciated.

Get a can of spray adhesive, mine came from Lowes and use it to put the headliner up, you can arrange and stretch it and then when it looks right you can put tacks in. Saves a lot of time. There are videos on youtube about the header and seats I think.

If you use spray adhesive, use 3M 90, it is white. The 70 is yellow and can bleed thru and be a problem.

Keep your work area clean, get and comfy work seat, reread the instructions before each step
Watching all their on line video's helps. Don't drive home any fasteners, until your happy
with your work. Relax and enjoy the new learning experience!

Don't be afraid to pick up the phone and give LB a call either. They have been very supportive in the past.

Classtique has a great U-Tube video on installing the headliner. They explain the use of glue to fit the headliner. It works really well. I just put a headliner in a 30 Tudor and i used this technique. It worked great and saved a lot of time and frustration.

If you use staple use stainless. I have an open car where staples were used on the top bows & you can see a discoloration bleeding though the muslin where steel staples were used, I didn't do it. But I have installed three L-B interior kits, two 60 B's & a 29 rdstr. I used stainless brads & staple on all of them. Check out Vol. 2, page 110 of How to Restore Your Model A. There's an article about installing an L-B kit in a tudor. Lots of pics., good luck.
