Default Missing Person

I did not find him as a member here but this fellow wanted me to send money for a pair of fender trim pieces I advertised for in "wanted". When I said by email 6 days ago that I wanted to pick them up, he's become non-responsive. Sound familiar ?

If he answered your want ad it's most likely a scam.

First if you did, do not put your email address or phone number in the ad. I have seen people that put there contact info on a piece of paper and post it as a photo, too much work for the bad guys to copy and contact you that way (sure they still can but seems to work). If he contacted you thru the board, then he must be listed here. That does not mean it's on the up and up.

You ever wonder why people post their phone number on craiglist like: one-80zero-1two3five? Computer bots searching numbers for scammers. Soon after you get tons of time share offers... if you list your real number.

This is different... just maybe your run of the mill scammer trolling this/other sites and preying on folks.

Here, If I do need something or have something to sell, I only respond to people with 500 post or more, or offer it through a pm seeing their car they are working on. Unfair I guess.

On Shelly's barn I posted a want ad for vintage ford exhaust air. Within a day I received a response that this guy had it. Asked if it was fresh, it was. I decided not to buy it though...

It is not unconceivable that something else happened. At the age of most of us, life can change on a dime. Believe me I know. Lets hope for something else.
