Default Lower Side Window Seals Late 31 Slant 4Dr.

My 160A has the vertical channel felts in the doors but nothing at the bottom of the glass either inside or outside. The doors do have drain holes at the bottoms so was it intended that rain water just flow down the glass and into the bottom of the doors where it would drain out? I see no indication of lower window seals in the doors outside or inside the glass. Is there supposed to be something either outside or inside the glass? Thanks...

I don't know about the 160, I do have information on the 190.

My Ford part book reprint shows a "strip, door glass retaining", A-160966-A/B for s/w fordor front, A-160938-A/B fordor rear, and A-190970-A/B for victoria. All are noted to use B-45968-A/B. (The -A refers to "thin" and -B refers to "thick"). The B-45968-A/B then carried through 1935.

This type rubber retainer strip had a flap orientated to the outside that sealed against the door when the window was rolled up.

Our part number for a nice US repro is B-45968. www.wescottsauto.com

I just installed this type window channel seal on mine, the flap could be a little bigger to provide a better seal, seems made to "barely" do the job.
If I'm not mistaken they have a window anti-rattle seal you can also install under the window trim (not stock)

Thanks for the responses. I plan on doing a complete upholstery job next Fall and am trying to figure out what I need to get done inside the doors while they are bare. Shining a flashlight down the glass shows some pretty dry mechanical workings and the wood tack strips at the tops the upholstery fastens too could use some referbishment also. Last time I took the inside panels off 30 years ago the fasteners were really rusted and I had to strengthen the panels where some of the fasteners pulled through the panel.
I assume the J shaped rubber strip that fits between the glass and channel is just a friction fit and will probably find remnants in the channel when the time come for disassembly. Thanks!
