Default Interesting Model A For Sale on Craigslist

Not mine but an interesting Roadster for sale on Craigslist in Boulder, Colorado. Note the Woodlites which were aftermarket accessories normally found on Auburns and Cords of the late 20's- early 30's. It seems to be really "dressed up" with all the accessory lights, horns, V-8 wheels and the 3-door hood, etc. Not sure what the radiator shell is from.

Here are a couple of other Model A's sporting Woodlites including an original shot from 1929:

Looks OK, but I can't say that I am crazy about it.

That grill and hood give it the long hood look of the big straight eight cars. I love it!

Beautiful car, looks like a 32 Chrysler grille and a repro door type hood, really don't care for the lights I think 32 Ford would look better. I thought it was interestingthat it has a rear mounted gas tank, proportions look good with the 35 wheels.

Hey Fred,
Thanks for sharing ! Everyone has their own taste in 'things' and I think that is stunning and something that I'd like to drive ! I believe that those lights, today, cost thousands of $ to buy....if you can even locate a pair. Hm, wonder if this type light is reproduced ?

How is the light pattern with Woodlites? Do they improve night driving, or are they for show?

I was wondering the same thing? With the narrow slit it just doesn't seem like they would work as well as original lights.

Back in the late 70's I had a chance to buy a pair of those lights for a couple hundred dollars, but thought they were ugly and passed on them. If anyone remebers the antique shop that used be be west of Watertown, S.D., that's where they were. That was the best antique shop I was ever in.

There is an interesting article on them here from Hemmings in 2008.
